This cuvée comes from vines planted back in 1883, and it showcases the Bedrock Wine Co style. Made of 50 percent Zinfandel, 20 percent Carignan and four percent Mataro, the remainder is a real field blend of 27 varieties. This wine is much more savoury on the attack compared to the Pagani, with a density and spice (intense liquorice) on the mid-palate balanced against the racy acidity and a chalky tannin profile. Morgan believes these wines will bring great joy in a few years’ time, just like older vintages of Ridge.
