Prosecco is an Italian variety of white grape, used to
make a dry sparkling wine under the same name. The grape is grown mainly
in theVeneto region ofItaly, traditionally in an area near Conegliano
and Valdobbiadene, in the hills north ofTreviso. The wine, known as the
main ingredient of the Bellini cocktail and more recently becoming
popular as a less expensive substitute for champagne.
