Marlborough`s Wairau River has carved an intricate braided pattern of channels on its path to the Pacific Ocean, and it is on the these river banks that the vineyards were planted in the late 1970`s. This Pinot Noir comes from low yielding vines to create wines with true intensity of flavour. It is then fermented and aged in oak for 9 months, creating a Pinot Noir to rival those from Burgundy. The wine shows aromas of cherry and wild berry fruits, shadowed by supple oak, whilst the palate is soft and generous, showing true varietal flavours.
