Champagne Cristal Brut 2004 Louis Roederer
Cristal is made according to the strictest criteria, based on a rigorous selection process applied to the vintage, the cru, the village, the grapes and finally the wines. Only Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from the House’s 10 most celebrated crus are used in the production of this cuvée. The wine matured on the lees for five years followed by a minimum of six months after disgorgement.
Golden straw colour with bronze highlights; light and lively nose with the fragrance of very ripe fruits. A fine, persistent mousse. On the palate it is evolved and rounded, with flavours of Tarte Tatin and honeyed brioche. More mineral notes come through on the midpalate, testament to this Champagne's deliberately low dosage. This is supported by a refreshing crispness that carries an impression of delicacy rather than strength. A long, elegant finish.
